Isomembrane® Technician Basic Job Description and General Information:
HTT’s primary function is repairing leaks in power boilers and duct work utilizing our Isomembrane® technology. Generally speaking, power boilers burn fuel (coal, natural gas, oil, for example) to generate steam which is used to turn generators and produce electricity. The boilers operate under much stress as a result from high heat, vibration, and pressure. To maximize the efficiency of these boilers, leaks must be sealed. This helps the utility plant operate in a cost efficient manner. Our patented Isomembrane® boiler sealing technology requires HTT trained craftspeople to perform construction work in power plants. Our field personnel work with hand tools, equipment, and specialized materials to construct custom fit seals for each project. Teamwork is of the greatest importance to what we do and how we do it. Each person on a “crew” is expected to perform any and all of the tasks involved with constructing the seal. The majority of work follows the power plant outage schedule which typically comes at times when the demand for electricity is at its lowest; spring and fall. Occasionally some “on-line” repairs are made to expansion joints when working conditions allow access to the work area. When busy seasons are upon us, an Isomembrane® Technician can expect to travel the majority of time. Travel from job site to job site, without a trip home, generally lasts several weeks depending on the work load. Our customers are located across the United States and travel by vehicle and/or air is required. The off-season is the time we use to recuperate and prepare for the next season with the exception of requests to perform on-line repairs. Working in a power plant environment requires the ability to understand and follow safety instructions. HTT is very focused on personnel safety and understands that our field personnel are one of our most valuable assets. Great measures are taken to ensure the safety and well being of each member on our team. 100% drug testing is required for clearance to work on all job sites. Our work environment frequently involves confined spaces. Due to the nature of our repair work, these areas are typically dusty and require use of personal protection equipment (PPE) such as dust masks and safety glasses. An unwillingness to comply with safety standards is not tolerated. HTT has a strong presence in the power boiler maintenance business. Our company is growing and as we grow we have a need for quality field personnel who are reliable and have positive attitudes to get the work done. We are a small company, which feels very much like a family setting. All of our employees interact with one another from time to time, from the President to the newest employee. We are proud of our strong track record of providing quality work and developing solid relationships with our customers. If employment with HTT is of interest to you, please contact Marshall Howell at 704-375-2111 or marshall@isomembrane.com.
